Driver verification

Every driver is verified before their first trip.

Verification isn't a badge you buy — it's a set of checks every YamuGo driver clears before they can carry a rider, and that we keep enforcing after.

How it works

Five checks between sign-up and your first passenger

01

Identity verification

Every driver submits a government-issued photo ID, checked against their profile before they can go live. No verified identity, no rides.

02

Background screening

Drivers pass a background check appropriate to their region. We re-screen and can suspend access if something changes.

03

Licence, registration & insurance

Drivers confirm a valid driving licence, vehicle registration, and the insurance required by law for their vehicle and activity.

04

Vehicle details

The car's make, model, colour and plate are recorded so riders can confirm the vehicle that pulls up matches the app.

05

4-digit pickup code

At pickup, the rider gives a 4-digit code the driver must match — a final check that both people are in the right ride.

What riders see: a verified badge on the driver's profile, their rating and trip history, the vehicle details, and the 4-digit pickup code to confirm the car — so you always know who you're riding with. It's one layer of the full safety suite; read why YamuGo is built this way.
